The cultural tourism of Gargano, and its huge richness of monuments is the evidence of the historical traces left by the different dominations.
From the impressive Norman- Swabian-Aragon Castle, the tour goes on towards St. Michael’s Church, where you can visit the Devotional Museum, the Stone Museum and the Lombard Crypts (since 2011 UNESCO World Heritage in the serial site “The Lombards in Italy”).
The tour among the monumental beauties will lead you to the Complex of St. Peter, consisting of the remains of the ancient church, the Baptistery of St. John in Tumba(known as Tomba di Rotari), one of the most mysterious places, and the Church of St. Mary, with its cycle of frescoes.
Go on towards the historical centre, called Junno, where MeTA(Tancredi Ethnographic Museum), the archaeological excavations of St. Anthony’s Church and the whiteness of the row houses will welcome you. Getting lost among its alleys is a great way to explore the city and breathe its beauty.
